Wranglers complete three-game sweep of Grit on Sunday
Colorado 4 @ Amarillo 6 – The Wranglers completed a three-game home sweep of the Grit thanks to a come-from-behind 6-4 win in the lone NAHL game on Sunday.
The two clubs were even at 1-1 after one period as Morley Phillips opened the scoring early for Amarillo, with Landon West answering late in the period for Colorado.
The Grit came out on fire in the 2nd period, opening up a 3-1 lead on goals from Chris Graves and Duncan Shin. The Wranglers would make it 3-2 on Nolan Gagnon’s first goal of the game and third goal of the weekend. The Grit would respond to make it a two-goal game once again as late in the period, Noah Grolnic scored to make it 4-2.
The Wranglers dominated the 3rd period, scoring four goals as Topi Puikkonen and Jack McDonald each scored a goal and Jack Ivey netted the final two goals to make it a 6-4 final.
Andrew Peterson made 25 saves in the win. Jack Erickson took the loss, making 31 saves
