Bismarck defenseman Roelofs makes NCAA DI commitment

The Bismarck Bobcats of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that veteran defenseman Luke Roelofs has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Bemidji State University in the CCHA.
Roelofs, 20, is in his third and final season playing in the NAHL with the Bobcats. The 6’1/191 lbs. native of Minnetrista, MN, is serving as team captain this season. So far during the 2023-24 campaign, Roelofs has recorded five points in 15 games played.
“I am super excited and honored to announce my commitment to further my education and play Division 1 hockey at Bemidji State University. I would like to give a special thanks to the Bismarck Bobcats organization, my friends, teammates, coaches, and especially my family for the continuous support to help me get to this point,” said Roelofs.
Roelofs made his NAHL debut with the Bobcats during the 2020-21 season, appearing in three games with Bismarck following his high school career at Holy Family Catholic in Minnesota.
During his rookie year in 2021-22, he recorded 10 points in 55 games played. During the 2022-23 season, he recorded 19 points in 56 games played.
Overall in his NAHL career, Roelofs has appeared in 129 career NAHL regular season games and recorded 34 points.
He is the seventh player on the 2023-24 Bobcats roster who is committed to play NCAA Division I hockey.
