Bismarck tops Minot in OT on Thursday, 5-4
Bismarck 5 @ Minot 4 (OT) – The Bobcats got a goal and an assist from both Julian Beaumont and Kade Kohanski, and Evan Hunter scored the overtime-winning goal as Bismarck beat the Minotauros in Minot on Thursday night, 5-4.
It was an active 1st period with the Minotauros jumping ahead 3-2 thanks to goals from Jack O’Hanisain, Weston Knox, and Niklas Ketonen, while the Bobcats had goals from both Kohanski and Beaumont.
Recently committed Matthew Rafalski and Chase Beacom each scored their first goals of the season in the 2nd period to put the Bobcats ahead, 4-3.
In the 3rd period, Minot tied the game late thanks to a goal from John Emmons, which was his first of the season.
In the overtime, Evan Hunter won a nice one-on-one battle down the ice and slipped a backhand shot under the pad of Minot goalie James Norton for the win.
Stephen Peck made 28 saves in the win, while Norton made 24 saves in the loss.
