The Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Eric Vitale has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Utica University.
Vitale, 20, just completed his first season playing in the NAHL and third season of junior hockey overall. The 6’2/194 lbs. native of Toronto, ON, was 4th in team scoring during the 2022-23 season with 37 points (17 goals, 20 assists) in 54 games played. He also had three points in eight Robertson Cup Playoff games.
“Extremely honored to announce my commitment to play Division 3 NCAA Hockey at Utica University. Thank you to my family, friends, coaches, trainers and all supporters who have helped me get to this point,” said Vitale.
Vitale was named the NAHL’s South Division Star of the Week for February 6-12, 2023, as the Mudbugs picked up a road sweep in New Mexico. Vitale played a big part in the weekend wins, putting up five points and a +3 rating in the two games.
