Lone Star defenseman Swift makes NCAA DI commitment
The Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that Top Prospects defenseman Bauer Swift has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of Connecticut.
Swift, 21, has played the past two seasons in the NAHL for the Brahmas. The 6’1/190 lbs. native of West Hartford, CT, was an alternate captain during the 2022-23 season and recorded a career-high 18 points (5 goals, 13 assists) in 55 games played.
Swift was also selected to and played in the 2023 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the South Division team.
A strong presence on the blue line, Swift was originally committed to Hobart College, and is a late addition to the famed Huskies hockey team.
“Bauer is going to bring intensity to his new team and we are certain that UConn and the Huskies fans will notice his strong presence on the blue line. Our entire organization wishes Bauer congratulations,” said Brahmas Head Coach and General Manager Dan Wildfong.
Swift contributed two seasons in a Brahmas sweater with 85 regular season appearances, 14 postseason appearances, 7 goals, and 19 assists for a total of 26 NAHL career points.
