Kenai River forward Zwirecki makes NCAA commitment
The Kenai River Brown Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Jacob Zwirecki has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Skidmore College.
Zwirecki, 21, just completed his first and final season playing in the NAHL and third season of junior hockey overall. The 6’2/203 lbs. native of East Amherst, NY, was traded to the Brown Bears halfway through the 2022-23 season by the El Paso Rhinos.
While with Kenai River, Zwirecki put up 8 points (3 goals, 5 assists) in 25 regular season games. He also played in three Robertson Cup Playoff games.
While with El Paso, he recorded 13 points in 30 games played.
Prior to playing junior hockey, Zwirecki spent five seasons playing youth hockey for the Buffalo Jr. Sabres.
