El Paso forward Janda makes NCAA commitment
The El Paso Rhinos of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward EJ Janda has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Trine University.
Janda, 21, just completed his third and final season playing in the NAHL. The 6’4/209 lbs. native of Brighton, MI, began the 2022-23 season playing for the Philadelphia Rebels, but was traded to El Paso after five games. In 48 games with the Rhinos, Janda recorded nine points.
During the 2021-22 season, he recorded 18 points in 50 games played, which was split between the Chippewa Steel and Rebels.
The four-year NAHL forward played 145 games in the league where he tallied 17 goals and 20 assists for a total of 37 points.
The men’s hockey team plays in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA), a league comprised of college teams in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The Thunder earned an overall record of 18-9-1 and finished the season fourth in their conference.
