Maine forward Meiers makes NCAA commitment

The Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Jonny Meiers has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Meiers, 20, just completed his third and final season playing junior hockey in the NAHL. The 5’10/175 lbs. native of Eagan, MN, served as an assistant captain during the 2022-23 season, recording 29 points (9 goals, 20 assists) in 54 regular season games. He also added four points in seven Robertson Cup Playoff games.
During the 2021-22 season, Meiers posted 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists) in 48 games played.
During his rookie season in 2020-21, Meiers appeared in 32 games for the St. Cloud Norsemen and recorded four points.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Meiers spent four seasons playing high school hockey in Minnesota for Eagan High.
UW-River Falls, which is located 30 minutes from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, plays in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and are 19-time WIAC Champions. The three-time NCAA National Champions play their home games out of the brand new 65-million-dollar W.H. Hunt Arena, located directly on campus.
