Springfield forward Cloutier makes NCAA commitment
The Springfield Jr. Blues of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Carter Cloutier has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Lawrence University.
Cloutier, 21, is currently in his second and final season playing junior hockey in the NAHL. The 5’11/175 lbs. native of Grand Junction, CO, has appeared in 39 games with the Jr. Blues this season and recorded nine points (4 goals, 5 assists).
Cloutier began the 2021-22 season with the Springfield Jr. Blues and was traded to the Lone Star Brahmas. He finished the 2021-22 season playing for the Kenai River Brown Bears.
“We think Carter will transition to the NCHA well after spending the majority of his NAHL time in the strong Midwest Division where points are at a premium,” said Brett Wall, Head Coach for Lawrence University. “I feel that Carter is the full 200-foot player and person. As the serving Assistant Captain in Springfield, he is going to bring leadership experience and a high compete level to our line up and the classroom here at Lawrence.”
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Cloutier played youth hockey for the Colorado Thunderbirds.
