Odessa forward Perdion makes NCAA DI commitment

The Odessa Jackalopes, a proud member of the North American Hockey League, would like to congratulate J.R. Perdion on his commitment to play NCAA Division I hockey for Long Island University (LIU). Perdion is the second Jackalopes player to commit for the 2022-23 season.
Perdion, 19, is in his third season in the NAHL. The Strongsville, OH native started his NAHL career with the Northeast Generals in 2020-21. Perdion played 17 games for them recording two goals and one assist. He finished his rookie season playing 24 games for Odessa and totaling seven points (5G, 2A).
The 5’11”/180lb. right-handed forward played in 59 games last season for the Jacks and finished second in scoring with 35 points (17G, 18A). He also finished last year with six power-play goals which were a team-high.
So far this season, J.R. finds himself fifth in points with 10 and fourth in goals with five.
Long Island University is located in Brookville, NY. The Sharks play in an Independent Conference. LIU started its hockey program in 2020-21 and has had Brett Riley as their head coach ever since (13-31-3).

I am super impressed with what LIU and the coaching staff are building and cannot wait to be a part of it,” said Perdion.
Head Coach Scott Deur stated this regarding Perdion’s commitment. “We are excited for J.R. and his commitment to LIU. We are really looking forward to seeing him grow and develop into a collegiate player,” said Deur.
