Shreveport forward Sedlacek makes NCAA commitment
The Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Lukas Sedlacek has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Aurora University.
Sedlacek, 20, is currently in his second and final season of playing junior hockey in the NAHL. The 6’1/180 lbs. native of Staten Island, NY, recorded 27 points (14 goals, 13 assists) in 51 regular season games during the 2021-22 season. He also has a goal in the first two playoff games thus far during the 2022 Robertson Cup Playoffs.
During his rookie season in 2020-21, he played in 29 regular season games and recorded 11 points. In 80 career NAHL regular season games, Sedlacek put up 38 points.
“Lukas has really done a great job over the past two seasons on and off the ice in Shreveport. Lukas plays an in-your-face type of game always buzzing around. He has good speed and a great knack for putting the puck in the net when earning the opportunity. He’s been a top penalty killer on our team this year and can log a lot of minutes due to his great conditioning. Lukas is a high character kid that has contributed to our public relations and community events at every opportunity. He’ll be a great fit at Aurora in so many ways. Best of luck to Lukas and Aurora next season,” said Mudbugs head coach Jason Campbell.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Sedlacek spent two seasons playing 18U hockey for the North Jersey Avalanche.
