Jets and Wilderness win on Thursday

Donte Lawson scored his second game-winner in his last three games as the Wilderness picked up a 2-1 win on Thursday.

Janesville 3 @ Chippewa 0 – Jets goalie Owen Millward stopped all 33 shots that came his way for his second shutout of the season as the Jets posted a 3-0 win over the Steel in the first of three games in a weekend series. The Jets jumped ahead 1-0 thanks to a 1st period goal from Cade Destefani, who scored his 22nd goal of the season. Xavier Lapointe and Max Igagaki would then add two more goals in the 3rd period for insurance. Steel goalie Grant Boldt made 24 saves in the loss.

MN Magicians 1 @ MN Wilderness 2 – The Wilderness gave their playoff hopes a huge shot in the arm as they won their second straight game thanks to a 2-1 win over the visiting Magicians on Thursday. The Magicians jumped out a 1-0 lead thanks to a 1st period goal from Devlin McCabe. The Wilderness took a 2-1 lead with two goals in the 2nd period from Josh Bohlin and Donte Lawson, who each scored their 8th goals of the season respectively. Wilderness goalie Jacob Zacharewicz would make the lead stand for the remainder of the game, making 25 saves in the contest. Andy Beran made 29 saves in the loss.
