The Topeka Pilots of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that Top Prospects forward Michael Muschitiello has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for the University of Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves in the WCHA.
Muschitiello, 21, just completed his second and final season of playing in the NAHL for the Pilots. The 5’10/161 lbs. native of St. James, New York, was one of the top scoring forwards for the Pilots this season. He finished 4th in team scoring with 38 points (10 goals, 28 assists) in 47 games played.
He was named the NAHL’s South Division Star of the Week on December 30, 2019.
Muschitiello also represented the South Division at the 2020 Top Prospects Tournament in Attleboro, Massachusetts in February where he tallied one goal.
“Michael has been one of our most dynamic offensive threats the last two seasons. His speed and ability to change a game in an instant are qualities that Alaska Anchorage will witness throughout his college career there. We are proud of what Michael has accomplished thus far, and wish him luck both on the ice and in the classroom,” said Pilots head coach Simon Watson.
Muschitiello made his NAHL debut during the 2017-18 season, appearing in nine games for Topeka after playing the majority of the season for Fox Motors. During his first full season in 2018-19, Muschitiello had 36 points in 57 games played. Overall in his NAHL career, Muschitiello has appeared in 113 career games and recorded 76 points.
