Odessa forward Ottenbreit makes NCAA commitment

The Odessa Jackalopes of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Kam Ottenbreit has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the Aurora University Spartans.
“I chose Aurora University to combine my academic goals with a growing hockey program where my style of play fits in perfectly,” Ottenbreit said. “The Coaching staff has been amazing and made sure I know where I bring value to the team. The size of the campus is a great fit. I look forward to contributing to the success of a phenomenal program.”
A native of Grosse Ile, Michigan, Ottenbreit finished the 2019-20 season with eight points (three goals, five assists). Ottenbreit also appeared in 48 contests for the Jackalopes this season which is tied for second most on the team.
Ottenbreit was recently featured in the NAHL’s 50 in 50 series on April 20th
Ottenbreit will join fellow teammates Jack Rudin and Sam Harris who also committed to Aurora University this offseason.
“We are very happy for Kam making his commitment to Aurora University. He has been a pleasure to coach this season,” said Jackalopes assistant coach Adam Phillips. “He’s mature beyond his years and will excel with his academics and athletics. He’s a player who played in all situations for us, always putting the team first. He’s constantly doing the extra work necessary to improve himself and his dedication is impressive. I’m excited to follow his progress in the NCAA ranks.”
Aurora University is located in Aurora, Illinois. The Spartans play at the Division III level and are a part of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.
