The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are excited to announce that defenseman John Serafin has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for St. Thomas University.
The 6'6, 210 lbs. native of St. Louis, Missouri, finished the 2019-20 season with two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 44 games played between the Knights and the Odessa Jackalopes.
A veteran of the NAHL, Serafin, 20, played parts of the last two seasons with the Odessa Jackalopes, Jamestown Rebels, and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. In 86 career NAHL games, Serafin recorded 21 points.
“We are very happy for John committing to St. Thomas University. Although he only played eight games for the Knights after joining us in February, his impact was immediately felt and we are grateful for his contributions to our organization,” said Knights Head Coach/GM Tom Kowal. “John will be a great addition to the St. Thomas University hockey program and community. We wish him the best of luck in the next step of his hockey journey."
St. Thomas University is located in St. Paul, MN. The Tommies play at the Division III level and are a part of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
