Aberdeen forward Neilson makes NCAA D1 commitment

The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Cade Neilson has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for the University of Alaska-Fairbanks in the WCHA beginning in the 2021-22 season.
Neilson, 18, is in his second season of playing junior hockey, but first in the NAHL for the Wings. The 5'11/176 lbs. native of Nottingham, Great Britain, has 7 goals and 14 assists for 21 points in 32 games played so far this season.
Neilson also spent time with Team Great Britain at the 2020 IIHF World Juniors Division II A Championships where he had 2 goals and 6 assists in 5 games played, helping them to a silver medal and earning himself Top Player on Team Great Britain.
Neilson has been a winner everywhere he has been. He was an EIHA U11 & U13 Conference All Star. He won a gold medal on the 17-18 U18 World Junior Cup D2A team. During the 2018-19 season he was a member of the MJAHL Championship Team and won Bronze at the World Junior Cup D2A.
"Cade has been a big contributor to our success this season. He is a talented, young player that plays major minutes in every situation. Cade is a high competitive player and a great teammate. He will make a solid addition to Alaska Fairbanks,” said Wings Head Coach Scott Langer.
