Shreveport defenseman Miller makes NCAA D1 commitment
December 4, 2019

The Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Sam Miller has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for American International College in Atlantic Hockey.
Miller, 20, is in his final season playing junior hockey and first season in the NAHL with the Mudbugs. The 6’0/190 lbs. native of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, currently is leading the Mudbugs in scoring as a defenseman with 18 points (7 goals, 11 assists) in 23 games played.
Prior to this season, Miller spent the 2018-19 season playing in the USHL for both the Madison Capitols and Muskegon Lumberjacks.
Miller made his announcement on Twitter. “I’m proud to announce my commitment to American International College. I want to thank my friends, family and coaches that have helped me along the way. #yellowjackets”
“Ever since Sam joined the Mudbugs he has bought in 100%. He has taken total control of his career as far as preparing himself and making it known to the schools he was interested in. He’s a smart, shifty, deceptive defenseman that can add some offensive punch to the back end. He will contribute in positive ways on the ice and in the locker room. Both Sam and AIC are in good hands,” said Mudbugs head coach Jason Campbell.
Miller is the fourth member of the 2019-20 Mudbugs team who has committed to an NCAA Division 1 school.
