Brown Bears move back into 1st place tie with 5th straight win

Kenai River goalie Landon Pavlisin moved his season record to 11-3-2 thanks to 30 saves in a 4-1 win on Thursday night.
Springfield 1 @ Kenai River 4 - The Kenai River Brown Bears won their fifth straight game, topping the Springfield Jr. Blues 4-1 in the lone NAHL game on Thursday. With the win, the Brown Bears moved into a tie for first place in the Midwest Division with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
The Brown Bears went into the locker room with a 1-0 lead thanks to a goal from Preston Weeks with 3:43 left in the period.
From there, special teams played a big difference in the game. Just 2:30 into the second, Logan Ritchie scored short-handed for a 2-0 lead. Porter Schachle then made it 3-0 less than two minutes later with a goal that was assisted by Peter Morgan and Cody Moline.
Then, just 14 seconds into the third period, Max Helgeson scored on the power play to make it a 4-0 game, with assists coming to Michael Spinner and Zach Krajnik. Caden Villegas had Springfield’s lone goal of the night just :17 seconds later to make it a 4-1 final.
Kenai River goalie Landon Pavlisin made 30 saves in the win, while Ryan Wilson made 25 saves for Springfield in the loss.
