August 2, 2018

The Jamestown Rebels (formerly the Philadelphia Rebels), proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Aaron Maguyon has committed to play NCAA Division III Ice Hockey for the Hobart College Statemen, who play in the Liberty Conference – a member of the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC). His commitment begins in September of 2018.
Maguyon, 20, led the team with 50 points (24 goals and 26 assists) in 58 games during the 2017-18 season. He also led the team in goals with 24. The 5’8/190 lbs. native of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, was also a participant in the 2018 NAHL’s Top Prospects Tournament back in February where he had two points (1 goal and 1 assist) in two games.
During his two-year career with the Rebels, he amassed a total of eighty-eight points (36 goals and 52 assists) in 117 regular season games. He is ranked second in franchise history in points (88), goals (36) and assists (52). He was named the team’s Rookie of the Year for the 2016-17 season and was named the team’s Best Offensive Player this past year.
“I am excited to announce that I will be attending Hobart College this upcoming fall to play hockey and to further my education,” stated Maguyon. “I would like to thank to everyone for their support along the way.”
“I’m very happy for Aaron,” said Rebels Head Coach Joe Coombs. “He was a diligent worker. We watched him blossom into one of the top twenty scorers in the NAHL. Hobart is getting a great hockey player and even better person.”
Hobart College is located in Geneva, NY. The Statesmen had an overall record of 18-6-5 last season that included a 12-3-3 conference record. Hobart has appeared in three straight NCAA tournaments and eight in total.
