Brookings forward Elser makes NCAA commitment

The Brookings Blizzard, proud Members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are proud to announce that forward Jimmy Elser has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at the University of New England.
Elser, 20, spent the 2017-18 season with the Blizzard as assistant captain. The native of the Hopewell Junction, New York put up 13 goals and 12 assists for a total of 25 points in 53 games during the regular season. Prior to this season, Elser (6’2/195) spent a season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, notching 21 points in 52 games.
Overall in his three-year NAHL career, Elser played in 145 games and recorded 56 points.
Elser also played in the NAPHL for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 18U team during the 2015-16 season, where he recorded seven points in 10 NAPHL games.
“Jimmy is a strong, power forward that will add strength and skill to the University of New England team. He constantly showed lots of character and he will continue to persevere in his new adventure with the Nor’Easters,” said Blizzard Head Coach Moe Mantha.
