The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Joe Molenaar has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at St. Cloud State University.
Molenaar, 18, is a 6’0/175 lbs. native of Minnetonka, Minnesota. Molenaar joined the Wings during the 2017-18 season following his High School season with the Minnetonka Skippers, where he served as team captain. Molenaar led his team to the Minnesota State AA High School Championship, recording 37 points in 28 games.
While with the Wings, Molenaar had a goal in 13 combined regular season and playoff games.
“Joe was a tremendous addition to this years line up. Joe has high-end vision with the ability to score. Joe will be a great addition to St. Cloud States roster,” said Wings Head Coach Scott Langer.
“I’m really excited to join St. Cloud. I’d like to thank the Odde Family & everybody in the Aberdeen Wings organization especially Coach Langer & Coach Bohn for helping me grow as a player and a man. I am super excited to be a part of a great hockey program at St. Cloud,” said Molenaar.
Joe joins former Wings players Kevin Fitzgerald and Will Hammer at St. Cloud State University.
