The Brookings Blizzard, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Derek Hammer has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Hammer, 20, has played the past two years with the Blizzard racking up 42 points in 107 regular season games. During the 2017-18 season the 5’10/170 lbs. native of Woodbury, Minnesota, recorded 20 points (12 goals, 8 assists) in 48 games played.
Hammer was selected for the Top Prospect Tournament in 2017 representing Team Central, and also played in five playoff games with Brookings tallying a goal and two assists.
