February 23, 2018

The Amarillo Bulls of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that goaltender Trevor Micucci has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Buffalo State University in the SUNYAC. The Buffalo, NY native is thrilled about going to school 20 minutes from his home.
For Micucci, it has been a whirlwind adventure in junior hockey, which has taken him from Buffalo, Philadelphia, Minnesota, Texas and now back home again, as he is about to embark on a new journey for the next four years.
“I’m very excited as Buffalo State has great program and I’m looking forward to being a part of it,” he said. “From a goalie standpoint, their guys are signing professional contracts after finishing their school so that was a plus. The program has been on the rise in recent years so the future is very bright there.”
Micucci, 20, began the season with the Minnesota Wilderness before being acquired by the Bulls in a trade just after Christmas. In 22 combined games, he has a record of 5-11-2-1 with a Goals Against Average of just over 3.50 and a save percent of .896.
“I think it’s going to be a great opportunity for me,” he said. “I am looking forward to playing a lot of games there and being home for another four years.”
Micucci (5’11/170) said there are a lot of people that have helped him along the way including his father, who is a goalie coach. “My parents and my girl friend have always been there to support me,” he said. “Coach Rocky (Russo) basically got me onto the scene and was the first person to scout me. I owe a lot of credit to him.”
Amarillo Bulls Head Coach Rocky Russo is thrilled to see Trevor get his opportunity to go to school in his hometown. “Trevor is an excellent goaltender and a really good person that comes from an excellent family,” Russo said. “Buffalo State is getting a goaltender who can step right in, compete and do well. I am very proud of Trevor for advancing his career and look forward to see what he’s going to do at the Division III level.”
Trevor Micucci becomes the fourth Amarillo Bulls player on the 2017-18 roster to announce his NCAA College Commitment joining defenseman Brendon Michaelian (Robert Morris University), and Austin O’Rourke (UMASS-Lowell) Micucci is the 12th overall joining Jason Brancheau (Ferris State), Brandon Bussi (St. Lawrence), Billy Duma (Air Force Academy), Luke Edgerton (Niagara University), Anthony Firriolo (Colorado College), Steven Ipri (Mercyhurst), Alex Truscott (Niagara University) and Brendan Furry (Niagara University).
