The Minot Minotauros, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are proud to announce the defenseman Luke Davison has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for St. Norbert College. It is a homecoming for Davison who grew up in De Pere, Wisconsin, and played high school hockey in the same rink as the St. Norbert Green Knights.
In three seasons as a defenseman for Minot, Davison, 21, posted five goals and 31 assists to go with a +20 rating. Minot Head Coach and General Manager Marty Murray said, “Luke had three solid season with us, he was dependable on the blueline and really a great kid off the ice.”
This past season, the 6’0/181 lbs. Davison had 17 points in 52 games played and an assist in four playoff games.
Davison was quick to thank Murray and others who have helped him along the way saying, “I wouldn’t be here without the Minotauros. I want to thank my billets the Bohl family, the coaches Marty and Nigel, and my family.”
As to why he chose St. Norbert, Davison said, “St. Norbert has a really good culture and history here. I’ve known Head Coach Tim Coghlin for a long time and he is passionate about the game and cares about his players.”
Davison hopes to help keep the winning culture going when he arrives on campus; the Green Knights have been to seven of the last eight NCAA DIII Tournaments and six of the last eight NCAA Frozen Fours, including three National Titles.
