Graduate makes NHL debut with Islanders

Rhett Rakhshani, who played in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) as a member of USA Hockey's National Team Development Program (NTDP) from 2004-06, made his NHL debut with the New York Islanders on Monday in a 5-0 loss to the Nashville Predators.
In 56 NAHL games, Rakhshani tallied 25 goals for 53 points.
After the NTDP, Rakhshani, a 22-year-old from Huntington Beach, Calif., played four years at the University of Denver before beginning his professional career with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League last season.
