Aberdeen forward Knowlton makes NCAA DI commitment

The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce forward Shawn Knowlton has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Air Force Academy, members of the Atlantic Hockey Association.
Knowlton, 20, has played in 28 games for the Wings this season and has 18 points on 7 goals and 11 assists. His 18 points currently ranked 7th on the Wings roster. The 5’9/165 lbs. native of Slingerlands, New York, is in his first season playing in the NAHL for the Wings.
Knowlton has previously played prep school hockey for Albany Academy and The Gunnery Prep School.
“Shawn is a high-compete player that also possesses great character. The Wings family is proud to have Shawn as part of this organization. The Falcon staff did a great job identifying the characteristics Shawn brings to a team. They will be very happy with him,” said Wings Head Coach Scott Langer.
Knowlton will join former Aberdeen Wing Kyle Haak who is currently in his Sophomore season with the Falcons.
He is the 8th player on the Wings 2016-17 team who has committed to an NCAA Division I school.
