NAHL Partners With Next Testing
FRISCO, TEXAS - The North American Hockey League announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Next Testing, a cutting-edge program that has set the new standard for athletic performance testing.
As part of the agreement, Next Testing will serve as the exclusive testing provider at the NAHL Showcase, which is scheduled for Sept. 19-22 at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.
The NAHL is the first league in the United States to partner with Next Testing.
"This is another step forward for our league as it relates to enhanced exposure and recruiting opportunities for our current and prospective players," said NAHL commissioner Mark Frankenfeld. "Next Testing's comprehensive approach to evaluating both the on- and off-ice athletic attributes gives all players and recruiting organizations the most complete evaluation of athletic potential and we're excited to be at the forefront of this innovative program."
At the NAHL Showcase, Next Testing will provide an opportunity for all attending NAHL athletes and prospects to participate its revolutionary, standardized system of athletic performance testing. The tests will be delivered as a one-day "combine" and involve dozens of biometric, physiological, cognitive and skill elements.
"Next Testing is excited to partner with the NAHL to help the league embrace this new standard for evaluating the next generation of NHL, NCAA and NAHL athletes," said Next Testing vice president Mike Valley. "The NAHL is demonstrating another progressive move by allowing Next Testing to help the league and its athletes realize their potential and their dreams."
Under the direction of leading sports and science advisors, Next Testing has developed a standardized testing program designed to objectively measure performance and deliver consistent and reliable sport-specific information on every athlete tested. Individual test results are then made available to dozens of recruiting organizations, including NHL, NCAA and junior teams through a secure online database. Each athlete can view the profile online and allow or deny recruiting organizations access to the personalized results.
