Jr. Blues' Sodrznik to compete in WJC

November 17, 2007

The Springfield Jr. Blues have announced that defenseman Klemen Sodrznik will compete for Slovenia in next month’s World Junior Championship.

Slovenia will play in Group B of the Division I bracket in Riga, Latvia, from December 12-18, 2007, along with Belarus, Latvia, Great Britain, France and Hungary.

“We couldn't be happier for Klemen to represent his country, the Jr. Blues and the NAHL with this great opportunity,” said Jr. Blues coach-GM Chris Wyler.  “Klemen is a fantastic player with a great attitude and works hard everyday.”

Sodrznik, 18, has totaled an assist after 16 games with the Jr. Blues this season.

Formally known as the IIHF World U-20 Hockey Championship, the World Junior Championship is an annual event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation for national Under-20 teams from around the world.
