Ice Dogs complete three-game sweep on Sunday

Fairbanks 5 @ Kenai River 1 – The Ice Dogs completed a three-game road sweep of the Brown Bears with a 5-1 win in the only NAHL game on Sunday. The loss was the 16th in a row for the Brown Bears, while Fairbanks’ winning streak reached five straight games.
It was the Brown Bears who jumped ahead 1-0 with a 1st period goal from Jack Gessert, which gave Kenai River the lead heading into the 1st intermission.
The then exploded for all five of their goals in the 2nd period as Ryner Gorowsky scored twice and Liam Stirtzinger, Luke Orysiuk and Cayden Cahill also scored. Stirtzinger finished with a mutli-point game, which included the game-winning goal. Todd Burgess had three assists in the win.
Fairbanks goalie CJ Boothe stopped 18 of 19 shots in the win. Brian Baker took the loss, making 29 saves for the Brown Bears.
