March 26, 2014

Port Huron Fighting Falcons 1 @ Michigan Warriors 2 (OT) – It turns out the 50th shot of the night was just enough for the Michigan Warriors to edge the Port Huron Fighting Falcons in overtime, 2-1. The first 40 minutes went scoreless as both goalies sparkled. The Fighting Falcons took a 1-0 lead just over halfway through the 3rd period on a goal from Garrett Hallford, who was making his NAHL debut. Four minutes later, it was Zach Szajner tying things up with a power play goal for the Warriors. Halfway through the overtime, Colin Larkin scored the game-winner to give the Warriors the win. Trevor Gorsuch made 28 saves in the win, while Alex Blankenburg made 48 saves in the loss. Boxscore
Lone Star Brahmas 4 @ Wichita Falls Wildcats 3 – The Brahmas got a big night from forward Roman Uchyn as they jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in a 4-3 win in Wichita Falls on Wednesday. Goaltender TJ Black was the other star for the Brahmas, making 52 saves. Uchyn factored in on all four goals including scoring the game’s first goal. That was followed by a goal from Nick Blase to make it 2-0 Lone Star after the 1st period. Evan Okeley scored for the Wildcats to cut the lead to 2-1, but Uchyn scored again as did Sebastian Vidmar to push the lead to 4-1. Wichita Falls made a game of things with goals from Tyler Ledford and Jake Townsend, but it would not be enough as Black held the fort the rest of the way. Boxscore
