Maine rides Depape to 2-1 win on Sunday over Generals
Northeast 1 @ Maine 2 – Nordiques goalie Kael Depape made 20 saves for his fourth straight win as Maine capped off a two-win week thanks to a 2-1 win over the visiting Generals on Sunday.
The Generals got on the board just 1:17 into the contest as Ryan Schelling netted his 8th goal of the season with assists to Frank D’Ancona and Paul Minnehan. The Nordiques would tie the game at 1-1 late in the 1st period as David Helledy scored his 5th goal of the season with assists to Anthony Achille and Brendan Gibbons.
After a scoreless 2nd period, the game-winner came with just over three minutes left in the 3rd period as Oliver Genest netted his 13th goal of the season with assists to Kellen Murphy and Brendan Kimball.
Generals goalie Cullen DeYoung played well in the loss, making 33 saves on 35 shots.
