Johnstown goaltender Lukenda makes NCAA commitment
May 31, 2019

The Johnstown Tomahawks of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that goaltender Cooper Lukenda committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for St. Olaf University.
Lukenda, 20, just finished his final season of junior hockey, which was his first in the NAHL. The 6’2/185 lbs. native of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, posted a 15-4-2 record this season with the Tomahawks, which included a 2.92 goals against average and a .897 save percentage.
“Cooper was part of an outstanding goalie tandem this past season. He was a vital part of our team, giving us an opportunity to win every time he was in the net, which is what you always look for out of your goaltender. His mature presence and quality personality was such a big part of our success this season, and I look forward to watching him continue that at St Olaf,” said Tomahawks head coach Mike Letizia.
St Olaf, located in Minnesota, plays in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
