Wilderness, Top Prospects dman Trejbal makes NCAA DI commitment

March 22, 2019
The Minnesota Wilderness, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that Top Prospects defenseman Ondrej Trejbal has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for St. Cloud State University in the NCHC for the 2019-20 season.
Trejbal, 19, has played in 107 regular season games for the Minnesota Wilderness over the course of the last two seasons. The 6’3/190 lbs. native of Nove Mesto na Morave, Czech Republic, currently ranks tied for 2nd among NAHL defensemen in scoring this season with 39 points (11 goals, 28 assists) in 54 games played.
In February of 2019, he shattered the team record for most points by a Wilderness defensemen, which was previously held by current Bemidji State defenseman Tyler Vold.
Trejbal has also played in the past two NAHL Top Prospects Tournaments, both in 2018 and 2019. In 2018, he played for the NAHL Selects Red team and in 2019 he was a member of the Central Division team.
Over the course of his two seasons with the Wilderness, Trejbal has recorded 68 points in 107 career games.
“Ondrej is an incredibly talented offensive defenseman and has been a driving, positive force on our team.  Off the ice, Ondrej is an outstanding human being and the Wilderness family is beyond excited to see him continue his journey at the top-notch program St. Cloud has to offer,” said Wilderness Head Coach Dave Boitz.
