Austin goaltender Miller makes NCAA DI commitment

November 6, 2018
The Austin Bruins, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that goaltender Brett Miller has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), a member of the ECAC.
“After visiting, I knew that RPI would be a perfect fit for me,” stated Miller. “The campus and the facilities are first-class and I felt great trust after meeting with the coaches. I can’t wait to be a part of their hockey family.”
The Northville, Michigan, native has played in seven games for the Bruins this season, his first season in the NAHL with the team. During that span, Miller (6’2/188) has a 4-1-0-2 record, a 1.66 goals-against average, and .916 save percentage. His low goals-against average is good enough to put him second in all of the NAHL in that respective category.
Prior to arriving in Austin, Miller spent a season north of the border in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League where he suited up for the Waterloo Siskins.
The 19-year-old Miller becomes the second Bruin to commit to RPI this season, following defenseman Dylan Davies who announced his intentions previously.
“It’s a big relief to know where the next step of my hockey career will take me and now the goal is to work even harder and help bring a Robertson Cup to Austin,” he exclaimed.
