U.S. Under-17 Team forward Emerson Etem rang up four goals and three assists as Team USA skated to a 4-0 record and the NAHL’s North Division regular-season championship. After being held scoreless in an 8-4 win over Motor City on Tuesday, the Long Beach, Calif., native scored a goal and two assists, including one on Michael Mersch’s game-winning marker, in a 6-2 triumph over the Machine on Friday. The next night, the 16-year-old netted another goal in a 4-2 win over Motor City. Etem wrapped up his weekend with a two-goal, one-assist effort in a 5-3 victory over the Alpena IceDiggers on Sunday. He was also a plus-4 on the week.
“Emerson played very consistently last weekend and he was very competitive, which allowed him to produce,” said U.S. National Under-17 Team head coach John Hynes. “He’s a leader of our team as an assistant captain, and through his hard work and dedication really has and continues to improve.”
St. Louis forward Justin Kirchhevel struck for two goals and two assists as the Bandits skated to a 1-0-1 record against Topeka, clinching the NAHL’s regular-season championship. On Friday, the Brookings, S.D., native potted two goals and an assist in a 4-0 victory. The next night, the 19-year-old connected for an assist in a 3-2 shootout loss. He was also a plus-3 on the weekend.
“It was the biggest weekend of the season and Justin rose to the occasion for us as an offensive leader,” said Bandits head coach Jeff Brown. “We fully expect him to continue his play into the playoffs.”
North Iowa forward Joe Harcharik tallied a goal and five assists in a two-game sweep over Albert Lea, becoming the Outlaws’ all-time leading scorer (142 points). On Friday, the Des Moines, Iowa, native notched a goal and two assists, including one on Joe Harren’s game-winning marker, in a 7-2 victory. On Sunday, the 20-year-old recorded three more assists as the Outlaws skated to an 11-1 win over the Thunder. He was also a plus-6 on the weekend.
“To have a player from Iowa, like Joe, set this (scoring) record is extra special,” said Outlaws head coach Jeff Crouse. “It shows that great players can be found right around here and gives our younger fans a role model.”
Fairbanks defenseman Drew Darwitz registered two assists as the Ice Dogs celebrated a two-game sweep over Alaska. On Friday, the Cottage Grove, Minn., native assisted on Eric Kraft’s overtime game-winner in a 2-1 victory. The next night, the 20-year-old assisted on James Saintey’s game-tying goal in the third period as the Ice Dogs bested the Avalanche in a shootout, 3-2.
“Drew came up with some big plays in some clutch moments last weekend," said Ice Dogs head coach Josh Hauge. "He's proven all year that he's one of the top offensive defensemen in the entire league."
Springfield goaltender C.J. Groh backstopped the Jr. Blues to a two-game sweep over Wichita Falls, turning aside 68 of 73 shots. On Friday, the Cincinnati native made 31 saves in a 6-3 victory. The next night, the 18-year-old stopped 37 shots as the Jr. Blues bested the Wildcats, 5-2.
“C.J. has played very well down the stretch for us I expect him to carry that through into the playoffs,” said Jr. Blues head coach Andy Maher.
Marquette forward Chad Pietila struck for three goals and three assists as the Rangers skated to a two-game sweep over Motor City. On Friday, the Milford, Mich., native recorded two assists, including one on James Gallagher’s game-winning goal, in a 5-3 triumph. The next night, the 20-year-old recorded a hat trick and an assist as the Rangers outlasted the Machine, 6-5. The Northern Michigan University recruit was also a plus-4 on the weekend.
“Chad has been our go-to guy all year and with so much on the line last weekend, he stepped up for us when we needed it most,” said Rangers head coach Kenny Miller. “To see Chad get his first Junior A hat trick on Saturday was rewarding, too. He works hard everyday and his efforts paid off.”
St. Louis defenseman Conor Allen tallied a goal and two assists as the Bandits skated to a two-game sweep over Mahoning Valley. On Friday, the Chicago native scored a goal in a 3-2 victory. The next night, the 19-year-old registered two assists as St. Louis bested the Phantoms, 5-2. He was also a plus-4 on the weekend.
“Conor really stepped up with some big contributions in a couple of our most important games of the year,” said Bandits head coach Jeff Brown. “He’s an important piece to our defensive core and we’re counting on him for a big postseason.”

Bismarck forward Jason Fabian connected for three goals and three assists as the Bobcats skated to a 3-0 record. On Friday, the Roseau, Minn., native recorded an assist and scored the game-winning shootout goal in a 3-2 victory over Albert Lea. The next night, the 19-year-old potted two goals and two assists as the Bobcats downed the Thunder, 10-2. On Sunday, the Air Force Academy recruit put home another goal in a 4-3 shootout win over the Alexandria Blizzard. He was also a plus-4 on the weekend.
“Jason is just starting to understand how great a player he could be,” said Bobcats head coach Byron Pool. “He’s starting to play his best hockey at the right time of the year. It’s scary to think how good he’ll be next year."
Wenatchee forward Junior Cadiz rang up four goals and six assists as the Wild skated to a 3-0-1 mark against Alaska. On Wednesday, the Los Angeles native recorded two assists in a 5-4 overtime loss. Two nights later, the 20-year-old tallied two goals in a 4-1 victory. Cadiz notched another goal and three more assists in a 7-0 triumph over the Avalanche on Saturday, and wrapped up his week with a one-goal, one-assist effort in a 4-1 win on Sunday. He was also a plus-5 for the week.
“Junior has been a key player for us all season,” said Wild head coach Paul Baxter. “He has tremendous skill and patience with the puck and has worked very hard in becoming a complete and physically strong two-way player. Any college that wants to substantially upgrade their skill level and character should be looking very carefully at Junior in the upcoming weeks.”
Wenatchee goaltender Mac Carruth backstopped the Wild to a pair of wins in his two starts over Alaska, turning aside 52 of 54 shots. On Friday, the Shorewood, Minn., native made 16 saves in a 4-1 victory. Two nights later, the 16-year-old University of Minnesota Duluth recruit stopped 36 shots in another 4-1 triumph over the Avalanche.

Traverse City forward Kyle Bonis put home five goals as the North Stars skated to a 2-1 record against Mahoning Valley to secure their first-ever postseason berth. After tallying in a 9-2 loss on Friday, the Lindsay, Ontario, native struck for two goals, including the game-winner, as the North Stars downed the Phantoms, 4-1. The next night, the 20-year-old connected for two more goals, including another game-winner, in a 3-2 triumph.
“Kyle's had a ton of chances lately, and it was good to see him break through in such a huge way,” said North Stars head coach Anthony Palumbo. “He's our captain, a leader, and gives us a spark at both ends of the ice.”
Topeka forward Alec Hagaman potted a goal and three assists as the RoadRunners split a two-game set with Springfield. After being held scoreless on a 4-1 loss on Friday, the 19-year-old from Peoria, Ill., tallied the game-winning goal and three assists the next night as the RoadRunners downed the Jr. Blues, 6-1.
“Alec is a go-to guy when we need him and he proved that last weekend,” said RoadRunners head coach Scott Langer. “We’re expecting him to have a lot of success throughout the playoffs and next season as well, wherever his career may lead him.”
Bismarck forward John Wickman connected for three goals and three assists as the Bobcats skated to a two-game sweep over Albert Lea. After being held scoreless in a 3-0 victory on Friday, the 19-year-old from Garland, Texas, recorded a hat trick and three assists, including one on Kevin Harris’ game-winning goal, as Bismarck bested the Thunder, 10-2. He was also a plus-6 on the weekend.
"John has really amped up his performances over the last couple of weekends,” said Bobcats head coach Byron Pool. “He knows what it takes to be a national champion, and he’s the type of player you would expect to elevate his game to the next level at this time of the season.”

Wenatchee forward Michael Voran struck for four goals and four assists as the Wild skated to a 4-1 record. On Tuesday, the Livonia, Mich., native recorded two goals in a 3-2 shootout win over Alaska. After being held scoreless in a 3-2 loss to the Avalanche on Wednesday and sitting out Friday’s 6-1 victory over Kenai River, the 18-year-old recorded an assist the next night in the Wild’s 3-2 shootout win over the Brown Bears. Voran wrapped up his week with a two-goal, three-assist performance as Wenatchee downed Kenai on Sunday, 11-4. He was also a plus-3 on the week.
“As our captain, Mike continues to be a strong leader who exhibits excellent character in every facet of his game,” said Wild head coach Paul Baxter. “That, along with his high skill level, will make him a valuable asset to any top Division I program.”

Traverse City goaltender CJ Motte backstopped his team to two wins in his two starts over Mahoning Valley, turning aside 69 of 72 shots as the North Stars secured their first-ever postseason berth. On Friday, the St. Clair, Mich., native made 29 saves in a 4-1 victory. The next night, the 17-year-old stopped 40 shots as Traverse City edged the Phantoms, 3-2.
"C.J. has been absolutely sensational for us,” said North Stars head coach Anthony Palumbo. "When we needed big saves, he was right there all weekend. In my opinion, C.J. is becoming one of the premiere goalies in the league right before our eyes."
HONORABLE MENTION: Wenatchee’s Mac Carruth
Marquette defenseman Ryan McGrath connected for a goal and three assists as the Rangers skated to a 1-0-1 record against Motor City. On Friday, the Pittsburgh native recorded an assist in a 3-2 overtime loss. The next night, the 19-year-old tallied a goal and two more assists, including one on Chad Pietila’s game-winner, as the Rangers bested the Machine 6-2. He was also a plus-1 on the weekend.
“Ryan was very good at both ends of the rink last weekend, and it was nice to see him rewarded with some points,” said Rangers head coach Kenny Miller. “We’re counting on a big finish from him as we make our push for the playoffs.”
Wichita Falls forward Adam Kuhn rang up five goals and five assists as the Wildcats skated to three wins. On Tuesday in a 5-3 triumph over the Alaska Avalanche, the Southgate, Mich., native recorded a hat trick and an assist. The 19-year-old followed that up with a pair of goals and an assist in a 5-4 victory over Kenai River on Friday. The next night, Kuhn recorded three more assists, including one on Sean McKenzie’s game-winning goal, as the Wildcats edged the Brown Bears, 4-3. He was also a plus-4 on the week.
"Adam has helped us win some games over the last couple of weeks," said Wildcats head coach John Bowkus. "He has the hot stick and everyone knows it. We hope it continues."

North Iowa forward Brandon Brodhag set the Outlaws’ single-season record for goals scored after registering two, along with three assists, as the Outlaws fashioned a 2-1 mark. On Friday, the Brooklyn Park, Minn., native potted a goal and assisted on Ryan Peltoma’s game-winner in a 5-2 victory over Alexandria. The next night, the 20-year-old recorded two more assists, including one on Dan Durham’s game-winning marker, as the Outlaws downed the Blizzard, 4-1. Brodhag, who was also a plus-3 on the weekend, scored North Iowa’s lone goal in its 4-1 loss to Albert Lea on Sunday.
“The entire team is proud of Brandon for what he’s accomplished,” said Outlaws head coach Jeff Crouse. “The funny thing is, he could have 10 or 15 more goals with some of the other chances he’s had. He has a way of getting himself into the right spot all the time.”

After being held scoreless in a 3-0 loss on Thursday, the Phoenix native tallied a goal the next night as the Wild fell to the Ice Dogs in overtime, 3-2. On Saturday, the 18-year-old collected two goals and two assists in the Wenatchee's 6-5 shootout win. He was also a plus-3 on the week.

“Obviously, it feels great to get the hat trick, but it was thanks to a good team-wide effort,” said Chaney. “Our special teams were really good last weekend and I benefited from that.”

Springfield forward Jon Gaffney unleashed for five goals and two assists as the Jr. Blues won three straight over Alexandria. On Friday, the Dover, N.J., native tallied two goals in a 4-2 victory. The next night, the 20-year-old potted a goal and assisted on Trent Frey’s game-winner as the Jr. Blues bested the Blizzard, 4-1. On Sunday, Gaffney scored two more goals, including the game-winner, and an assist in a 3-1 triumph. He was also a plus-4 on the weekend.
"Jon came up with some big plays when we needed them," said Jr. Blues head coach Andy Maher. "He has shown good leadership over the course of the last month and is getting rewarded with some big goals for us at key times."

“Nikita was outstanding for us last weekend,” said Thunder head coach Brad Zangs. “He and his entire line have been very productive over the last few games.”
Wenatchee defenseman Adam McKenzie tallied a goal and four assists as the Wild celebrated a two-game sweep over Fairbanks. On Friday, the Petaluma, Calif., native assisted on Nic Dowd’s game-winning goal in overtime in a 3-2 win. The next night, the 18-year-old connected for a goal and three more assists, including one on Michael Voran’s game-winner, as the Wild skated to a 5-2 victory over the Ice Dogs. “Garrett delivered everything we could've asked for last weekend, making big saves when we needed them,” said Phantoms head coach Bob Mainhardt. “It just shows why we've said all year that Bartus and (Jordan) Tibbett give us the best 1-2 combination of goalies in the league."

Motor City forward Jon Bobb tallied two goals and two assists as the Machine put together a 2-1 record. On Thursday, the Phoenix native picked up an assist in a 3-1 loss to Mahoning Valley. The next night, the 20-year-old scored a goal as the Machine bested the Phantoms in a shootout, 3-2. The Army recruit wrapped up his week by scoring the game-winning goal and an assist in Motor City’s 5-4 win over the Alpena IceDiggers on Sunday.
“Jon had a great weekend for us,” said Machine head coach Sean Clark. “He has the ability to dictate the play and take control of the game. He’s a good young man and is going to have a very good career ahead of him at Army.”

On Saturday, the Tonowanda, N.Y., native recorded a goal in a 3-0 triumph. The next day, the 17-year-old collected two assists, including one on Brooks Bertsch’s game-winning goal, as the Bandits downed Team USA, 3-2. He was also a plus-1 on the weekend.
"Kyle had a great weekend against the best Under-18 players in the country," said Bandits head coach Jeff Brown. "He's developing into one of the premier up-and-coming defensemen in the NAHL."

On Friday, the Canton, Mich., native made 23 saves in regulation and overtime and three of four in the shootout in a 3-2 victory over Mahoning Valley. The next night, the 20-year-old stopped 47 shots as the Machine downed the Alpena IceDiggers, 5-4.
“Joe has been great over his past five starts (4-1) and it’s refreshing to see him get rewarded for his efforts,” said Machine head coach Sean Clark. “He’s a great young man and a terrific goaltender and does a tremendous job challenging shooters and controlling rebounds.”

Mahoning Valley forward Brandon Saad struck for five goals and two assists as the Phantoms finished with a 2-1 mark against Marquette. On Thursday, the Gibsonia, Pa., native recorded a goal and two assists, including one on Robert Harrison’s overtime winner, in a 3-2 victory. The next night, the 16-year-old scored the Phantoms’ lone goal in a 5-1 loss. On Sunday, Saad rang up a natural hat trick as Mahoning Valley downed the Rangers, 6-1. He was also a plus-5 on the weekend.
“I was pretty excited about the natural hat trick; it was actually my first one of those ever,” said Saad. “I didn’t even know it was a natural until after the game, which was pretty cool to hear.”

On Friday, the Delafield, Wis., native collected a goal and two assists in a 4-1 victory. The next night, the 20-year-old assisted on Justin Kirchhevel’s game-winning goal as the Bandits downed the Wildcats, 2-1.

Owatonna defenseman Jake Sloat connected for two goals and two assists as the Express fashioned a 2-1 record. After being held scoreless in a 6-2 loss to North Iowa on Friday, the Louisville, Colo., native recorded an assist the next night as the Express dropped the Outlaws, 6-2. On Sunday, the 18-year-old tallied two goals, including the game-winner, and an assist as Owatonna blanked the Albert Lea Thunder, 5-0. He was also a plus-5 on the weekend.
“Jake has been working very hard to become a solid, two-way defenseman,” said Express head coach Pat Cullen. “His work ethic and attention to details are very impressive.”

Kenai River forward Kevin Wentland struck for three goals as the Brown Bears split a two-game set with Wenatchee. On Friday, the Columbia Heights, Minn., native scored the Brown Bears’ only goal in a 3-1 loss. The next night, the 19-year-old put home two more goals, including the game-winner, as Kenai River bested the Wild, 5-1.
“Kevin has been on fire lately,” said Brown Bears head coach Brent Agrusa. “He has really committed himself to being an all-around hockey player, and, with the way he’s playing, the sky’s the limit for him in terms of his future.”
Bismarck goaltender Matt Grogan won both of his starts over Alexandria, turning aside 78 of 80 shots. On Thursday, the Gilbert, Ariz., native made 40 saves in a 3-1 victory. Two nights later, the 20-year-old stopped 38 shots and all three in the shootout as the Bobcats took down the Blizzard, 2-1.
“Matt could be the best non-committed college goalie in junior hockey,” said Bobcats head coach Byron Pool. “Whoever decides to take a risk on this young man is going to be rewarded with one heck of a player.”

On Sunday, the 20-year-old recorded a hat trick as the Phantoms bested the North Stars, 5-1. He was also a plus-2 on the weekend.
“Nick has been the hottest player in the league over the last month,” said Phantoms head coach Bob Mainhardt. “Not only has his offense been great, but he's bought in defensively, making him tough to deal with in all aspects.”
Springfield forward Kyle Verbeek totaled two goals and two assists as the Jr. Blues fashioned a 2-1 record. On Friday, the Bloomfield, Mich., native recorded two assists in a 4-0 win over the Topeka RoadRunners. The next night, the 20-year-old potted a pair of goals as the Jr. Blues doubled up the RoadRunners, 6-3. Verbeek was held scoreless the next night in 4-1 loss to the St. Louis Bandits. He was also a plus-2 on the weekend.

The next night, the 18-year-old struck for the game-winning goal in overtime and an assist as the Wild bested the Ice Dogs, 3-2.
“DJ continues to play excellent hockey for us,” said Wild head coach Paul Baxter. “He’s coming up with big points in critical moments and we’re going to need more of the same from him down the stretch.”

North Iowa forward Kurt Weston tallied four goals and an assist as the Outlaws celebrated a pair of wins over Springfield. On Friday, the Roseau, Minn., native recorded a hat trick and an assist in a 6-5 triumph. The next night, the 20-year-old netted another goal as the Outlaws downed the Jr. Blues, 3-2. The Northridge, Calif., product followed that up with a two-goal effort in another 5-2 Ice Dogs win on Friday. The next day, the Air Force Academy recruit added an assist as Fairbanks fell to the Wild, 4-3. He was also a plus-1 on the weekend.
“Austin showed once again last weekend why he’s one of the top forwards in the league,” said Ice Dogs head coach Josh Hauge. “He continues to put up big points for us and we expect that to continue down the stretch.”

Alaska goaltender Nate Pellegrino backstopped the Avalanche to a pair of victories over Wichita Falls, turning aside 67 of 71 shots. On Friday, the Woodlyn, Pa., native made 31 saves in a 5-3 victory. The next night, the 20-year-old stopped 36 shots as the Avalanche bested the Wildcats, 3-1.
“Nate was outstanding for us last weekend,” said Avalanche head coach Dave Boitz. “He’s starting to get into game shape and he’s been really good for us since the holiday break.”

Traverse City forward Kyle Bonis struck for three goals as the North Stars skated to a two-game sweep over Marquette. On Friday, the Lindsay, Ontario, native recorded two goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-1 triumph. The next night, the 19-year-old potted another game-winning goal, this time shorthanded, as the North Stars blanked the Rangers, 2-0. He was also a plus-3 on the weekend.
"When a guy scores three of the five goals you had all weekend, it's pretty easy to see how important he is," said North Stars head coach Anthony Palumbo. "We do rely on Kyle for offense, but he gives us so much more than that. He gets big goals at big times, but he's also a responsible, two-way player."

Topeka forward Andy Inderieden connected for two goals and an assist as the RoadRunners celebrated a two-game sweep over Fairbanks. On Friday, the Maple Grove, Minn., native potted a pair of goals and assisted on Jordan George’s game-winning in a 5-3 victory. The next night, the 20-year-old scored the first goal of the shootout as the RoadRunners bested the Ice Dogs, 2-1.
“Andy is starting to play the way he can play and the way he needs to play,” said RoadRunners head coach Scott Langer. “He has the size, he has the tools and he has the heart. His role with this team grows every day.”
Owatonna forward Dan Cecka rang up three goals and three assists as the Express fashioned a 1-1 record. On Friday, the Woodbury, Minn., native put home a goal and three assists in a 6-4 win over the Alexandria Blizzard. The next night, the 19-year-old scored two more goals as the Express fell to the Bismarck Bobcats, 6-4. He was also a plus-1 on the weekend.
“Dan's addition has give us a tremendous boost," said Express head coach Pat Cullen. "He creates a lot of offense with his speed and tenacity as well as being a very coachable team player."

On Saturday, the Anchorage native tallied a goal and assisted on Justin Giles’ game-winning marker in a 6-5 victory. The next day, the 19-year-old put home another goal and an assist as the Avalanche bested the Brown Bears, 5-4. He was also a plus-2 on the weekend.
“Robb was a difference-maker for us last weekend, there’s no question about it,” said Avalanche head coach Dave Boitz. “It was nice to see him put up a few more points for us and hopefully that continues.”
Traverse City goaltender C.J. Motte backstopped the North Stars to a two-game sweep over Marquette, turning aside 42 of 43 shots. On Friday, the St. Clair, Mich., native made 23 saves in a 3-1 triumph. The next night, the 17-year-old stopped all 19 shots as the North Stars blanked the Rangers, 2-0.
"Obviously, C.J. made a ton of big saves and allowed just one goal all weekend against a good team,” said North Stars head coach Anthony Palumbo. “He’s been really stable - very steady - and our team defense has been pretty solid as well.”

Traverse City forward Garrett Thompson recorded three assists in the North Stars’ only game of the weekend, an 8-1 win over the Motor City Machine on Saturday. The 18-year-old from Traverse City was also a plus-3.
“Garrett had an outstanding game for us,” said North Stars head coach Anthony Palumbo “He was effective at both ends of the ice and it was nice to see his efforts rewarded with some points.”
Wichita Falls forward Brett Hartung connected for a hat trick, including the game-winning goal, and two assists as the Wildcats skated to a 6-1 victory over Wenatchee on Friday. The 20-year-old from Tallahassee, Fla., who was held scoreless the next night (a 4-3 win over the Wild), was a plus-4 on the weekend.
“Brett has a very accurate and hard shot and he’s scored some very key goals for us,” said Wildcats head coach John Bowkus. “He continues to work on the little things that are making him a very good offensive player."

Owatonna forward Dmitry Lugin struck for two goals and an assist in the Express’ 11-2 triumph over Albert Lea on Friday. The 18-year-old from Moscow, Russia, who was held scoreless the next night (a 4-1 loss to North Iowa) was a plus-2 for the weekend.
“Dmitry is a player who has been very consistent up to this point,” said Express head coach Pat Cullen. “He has very good offensive instincts, and we're excited to see him start scoring.”
Kenai River forward Kyle Clay rang up a goal and assisted on Jared Beers’ game-winning marker in the Brown Bears’ 3-2 win over Alaska on Friday. The 19-year-old from Henderson, Nev., was held scoreless the next night (a 3-2 overtime loss to the Avalanche).
“Kyle has been playing a big role in our recent success, and it was nice to see that continue last weekend,” said Brown Bears head coach Brent Agrusa.
Wichita Falls goaltender Mike Jarboe backstopped the Wildcats to a two-game sweep over Wenatchee, turning aside 54 of 58 shots. On Friday, the Grosse Point Park, Mich., native made 26 saves in a 6-1 victory. The next night, the 20-year-old stopped 28 shots in regulation and overtime and seven in the shootout as the Wildcats downed the Wild, 4-3.
“Mike played extremely well last weekend,” said Wildcats head coach John Bowkus. “As a coach, you can only hope that he'll win some games for the team and last weekend he did just that."

After being held scoreless against the RoadRunners the next night (a 2-1 win), the 19-year-old tallied three more assists, including one on Grant Gorczyca’s game-winning goal, in a 9-1 victory over Wichita Falls on Friday. Held scoreless on Saturday (a 3-1 loss to the Wildcats), the Colorado College recruit delivered a one-goal, one-assist effort the next day in the Bandits’ 6-0 win over Wichita Falls.
“Andrew is a high-end forward in this league and has been an offensive leader for us with his consistency and timely playmaking,” said Bandits head coach Jeff Brown.

North Iowa forward Alex Carlson unleashed for three goals and six assists as the Outlaws skated to a 2-0-1 record. On New Year’s Eve, the Farmington, Minn., native set a team record for points in a game with seven (two goals, five assists) in a 9-3 triumph over Albert Lea. The 20-year-old added an assist in the Outlaws’ 4-3 overtime loss to Alexandria on Friday before connecting for another goal in a 5-4 victory over the Blizzard the next night. He was also a plus-2 for the weekend.
“Whenever he touched the puck, something happened which was fun to watch,” said Outlaws head coach Jeff Crouse.

The next night, the 19-year-old stopped 31 shots as the Bandits bested the RoadRunners, 2-1. Kinkaid steered aside 20 shots in a 9-1 victory over Wichita Falls on Friday, and wrapped up his week with a 12-save shutout performance over the Wildcats on Sunday (6-0).

After being held scoreless in a 3-2 loss to the Alpena IceDiggers on Saturday, the LaSalle, Mich., native recorded a hat trick, including the game-winning goal, and an assist the next day as the Machine downed the Traverse City North Stars, 6-4. The 19-year-old was also a plus-2 for the weekend.
“Josh was the fasted player on the ice all night on Sunday,” said Machine interim head coach Sean Clark. “It was good to see him get his hat trick.”

"Brooks proved last weekend that he has good skill and is an excellent penalty killer," said Bandits head coach Jeff Brown. "He's young and getting better every day. We expect Brooks to play a big role for our hockey club in the second half of the season."

The next night, the 20-year-old collected an assist and scored the game-winning goal in the shootout in a 4-5 win over Traverse City. On Saturday, Peterson netted two goals in regulation as Alpena again downed the North Stars in a shootout, 4-3.
“Erik proved last weekend why he’s the offensive leader of this team,” said IceDiggers assistant coach Justin Bracci. “He came up big in a lot of important situations for us and was definitely a key to our success.”

The next night, the 20-year-old tallied an assist in a 4-3 win. On Sunday, Parson collected another assist as the Ice Dogs topped the Brown Bears in overtime, 2-1. He was also a plus-2 for the week.

On Thursday, the Goodrich, Mich., native made 22 saves in a 2-1 victory over Alpena. The next night, the 19-year-old stopped 26 shots as the Rangers bested Motor City, 4-1. On Saturday, Kissaw steered aside 25 shots in Marquette’s 4-3 triumph over the Machine.

On Sunday, Kirchhevel notched two goals and three assists, including one on Soren Jonzzon’s game-winner, in an 8-5 triumph over Traverse City. He was also a plus-4 on the weekend.

North Iowa forward Brandon Brodhag rang up four goals and an assist as the Outlaws skated to a 2-1 record. On Wednesday, the Brooklyn Park, Minn., native recorded an assist in a 6-2 win over Owatonna. In a 5-3 loss to Alexandria on Friday, the 20-year-old connected for a pair of goals. The next night, Brodhag tallied two more goals, including the game-winner, as the Outlaws doubled up the Blizzard, 4-2. He was also a plus-4 on the week.
“Brandon has these types of scoring streaks in him and no one should be surprised after the rookie season he had last year,” said Outlaws head coach Jeff Crouse.

Wenatchee forward Duncan McKellar recorded two goals and four assists as the Wild skated to a three-game sweep over Alaska. On Friday, the Phoenix native connected for two assists, including one on Michael Voran’s game-winning goal, in a 5-4 victory. The next night, the 18-year-old struck for the game-winning goal in the Wild’s 3-0 shutout over the Avalanche. On Sunday, McKellar notched another goal and two more assists in Wenatchee’s 6-5 triumph. He was also a plus-2 on the weekend.
"Duncan is tremendously skilled with good creativity and hockey sense,” said Wild head coach Paul Baxter. “Add that to a 6-foot-3 frame and we feel Duncan is a very attractive Division I prospect and, ultimately, pro prospect.”
Alpena goaltender Nick Graves backstopped the IceDiggers to a 2-1 record at the North Showcase, turning aside 64 of 70 shots. On Friday, the Wisconsin native made all 18 saves in Alpena’s 1-0 shutout over Motor City. After stopping 25 shots in a 3-2 loss to Traverse City on Saturday, the 20-year-old came through with a 21-save effort the next day as the IceDiggers downed Marquette, 4-3.
“Nick has been exceptional the past few weeks and he’s helped us win some big games, that’s for sure,” said IceDiggers head coach Jack Fritsche. “We’re going to need more of the same from him if we’re going to continue to be successful.”

Alpena forward Mike DeGrazia tallied two goals and an assist as the IceDiggers celebrated a two-game sweep over Motor City. On Saturday, the Novi, Mich., native struck for two goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-2 victory. The next night, the 20-year-old recorded an assist as the IceDiggers defeated the Machine, 3-1. He was also a plus-1 on the weekend.
“It was good to see Mike put up some points for us,” said IceDiggers head coach Jack Fritsche. “As a veteran, we expect him to lead both on and off the ice and he did that last weekend.”

Wichita Falls forward Chad Hudson rang up three goals and two assists in a pair of wins over Springfield. On Friday, the Coppell, Texas, native netted two goals in regulation and one in the shootout in a 4-3 triumph. The next night, the 18-year-old collected another goal and an assist as the Wildcats bested the Jr. Blues, 7-5.
“Chad is making the most of his chances," said Wildcats head coach John Bowkus. "He has a knack for scoring which we've been badly missing this season.”

Bismarck forward Jeff Harris struck for two goals, including the game-winner, and two assists in the Bobcats’ 5-4 win over North Iowa on Friday. The 20-year-old from Simi Valley, Calif., was also a plus-2. Harris did not play in the second game of the series due to injury.
“Jeff has been a great teammate all year,” said Bobcats head coach Byron Pool. “We expected big things from him, but it’s taken him awhile to get going. It’s nice to see Jeff rewarded for all his hard work.”

Fairbanks forward Brad McCabe connected for four goals and an assist as the Ice Dogs skated to a two-game sweep over Kenai River. On Friday, the Gearhart, Ore., native tallied two goals and an assist in a 6-3 victory. The next night, the 20-year-old potted two more goals as the Ice Dogs downed the Brown Bears, 5-1. He was also a plus-2 on the weekend.
“Brad has been playing a hot hand the last couple of weeks and we’re more than happy to see it continue,” said Ice Dogs coach Josh Hauge. “He’s a talented offensive player and he’s proving that again this season.”
Mahoning Valley goaltender Jordan Tibbett backstopped the Phantoms to a two-game sweep over the U.S. Under-17 team, turning aside 57 of 62 shots. On Friday, the Indianapolis native made all 23 saves as Mahoning Valley blanked the U.S. team, 3-0. The next night, the 18-year-old made 35 saves in regulation and overtime and all five in the shootout in a 6-5 victory.
“It seems we're always talking about Jordan, and he deserves it,” said Phantoms head coach Bob Mainhardt. “He worked his tail off this offseason and was rewarded for it with his first shutout on Friday.”

Mahoning Valley forward Erik Higby connected for the shorthanded game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Phantoms to a 4-3 win over the St. Louis Bandits on Friday. The 19-year-old from Shelby Township, Mich., was also a plus-1 for the weekend, which marked Mahoning Valley’s first two games played at the Chevrolet Centre.
"Erik has been great all year, from the Showcase on,” said Phantoms head coach Bob Mainhardt. “He had a little slump going after a really hot start, so it was great to see him get back on the board in such an important fashion, giving us a win to open the Chevrolet Centre."
Topeka forward Ross Trousdale rang up two goals and two assists in the RoadRunners’ two-game sweep over Wichita Falls. On Friday, the Rogers, Minn., native notched the game-winning goal and an assist in a 4-0 victory. The next night, the 19-year-old potted another goal and an assist as the RoadRunners downed the Wildcats, 5-1. He was also a plus-2 on the weekend.
“Ross is not only a gifted player, but a fan-favorite and big part of our program,” said RoadRunners head coach Scott Langer. "He continues to improve every week and with his work ethic, his hockey future is sure to be a bright one.”

Owatonna forward Zach Vierling tallied three goals and an assist as the Express celebrated a pair of wins over Albert Lea. After being held scoreless in a 3-2 victory on Friday, Vierling, from Coon Rapids, Minn., recorded a hat trick and an assist as the Express blitzed the Thunder, 10-2. The 18-year-old was also a plus-4 for the weekend.
“Zach is a very smart, skilled player who we were waiting to break through offensively,” said Express head coach Pat Cullen. “He’s a very unselfish player that keeps getting better because of his work ethic and hockey sense.”

Marquette goaltender Dan Sullivan backstopped the Rangers to a weekend sweep over Traverse City, turning aside 56 of 59 shots. On Friday, the York, Pa., native made 34 saves in a 3-2 overtime victory. The next night, the 19-year-old stopped 22 shots as the Rangers skated to another overtime win (2-1) over the North Division-leading North Stars.
“Dan played great last weekend, and he was a big reason we were able to get all four points,” said Rangers head coach Kenny Miller. “He’s the type of goalie that gives us a chance to win every night.”

Alpena forward Erik Peterson notched three goals and an assist as the IceDiggers won two of three games over Marquette. On Thursday, the Alpena native scored a goal in a 3-2 loss. The next night, the 20-year-old put home a goal and an assist as the IceDiggers edged the Rangers, 3-2. On Sunday, Peterson scored the only goal of the game in Alpena’s 1-0 triumph over Marquette. He was also a plus-1 on the weekend.
“Erik is an important part of our offense and he proved that last weekend," said IceDiggers head coach Jack Fritsche. "As a veteran and our leading scorer, we're expecting more big things from him this season."

St. Louis forward Andrew Hamburg collected a goal and four assists as the Bandits posted a 2-1 record against Springfield. On Friday, the Phoenix native scored a goal in a 3-2 triumph. The next night, the 19-year-old registered three assists as the Bandits downed the Jr. Blues, 6-1. The Colorado College recruit wrapped up his weekend with an assist in a 3-2 loss on Sunday. He was also a plus-2 on the weekend.
"Andrew is a very gifted offensive player with exceptional hockey sense,” said Bandits head coach Jeff Brown. “He’s been a great leader for us ever since his return from Tri-City (of the USHL).”
Owatonna forward Cory Thorson rang up two goals and two assists as the Express fashioned a 2-0-1 record. On Friday, the Crystal, Minn., native recorded an assist in a 2-1 overtime loss to Bismarck. The next night, the 18-year-old tallied the overtime game-winner and two assists as the Express bested North Iowa, 4-3. Thorson put home another goal in Owatonna’s 6-2 win over Albert Lea on Sunday. He was also a plus-2 on the weekend.
“Cory continues to get better everyday,” said Express head coach Pat Cullen. “He’s making big plays for us every game and his line with Tony McDonald and Chris Bournazos gets a lot of chances because of their skills and chemistry.”

Wenatchee forward Nic Dowd struck for a goal and five assists as the Wild skated to three wins over Wichita Falls. On Wednesday, the Huntsville, Ala., product recorded two assists in a 3-2 victory. Two nights later, the 18-year-old posted two more assists as the Wild downed the Wildcats, 5-2. Dowd finished his weekend with a one-goal, one-assist effort in Wenatchee’s 4-3 shootout win on Saturday. He was also a plus-3 on the week.
“Nick is maturing in his overall game,” said Wild head coach Paul Baxter. “He and his linemates - Michael Voran and DJ Vandercook - were a consistent threat to score last week.”

Wenatchee goaltender Mathieu Dugas backstopped the Wild to three wins over Wichita Falls, turning aside 79 of 86 shots. On Wednesday, the L’Assomption, Quebec, native made 27 saves in a 3-2 victory. Two nights later, the 18-year-old stopped 21 shots as the Wild bested the Wildcats, 5-2. On Sunday, Dugas turned back 31 shots - and four of five in the shootout - in Wenatchee’s 4-1 triumph.
“Mathieu was a major reason for our success last week,” said Wild head coach Paul Baxter. “He made three or four exceptional saves in each game while handling everything else with tremendous composure and poise. He was a positive difference-maker in all three games.”

Traverse City forward Kyle Jean tallied two game-winning goals as the North Stars fashioned a 2-1 record against Mahoning Valley. On Friday, the Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., native scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 triumph. After being held scoreless the next night, the 18-year-old Lake Superior State recruit scored the overtime game-winner on Sunday as the North Stars bested the Phantoms, 5-4.
"Kyle is so highly-skilled, and that's why he's going to a Division I college," said North Stars head coach Anthony Palumbo. “We needed big plays this weekend, and Kyle was right there to provide them."

Topeka forward Matt Hartmann struck for a goal and an assist as the RoadRunners skated to a two-game road sweep in Springfield. After being held scoreless on Friday, the Hugo, Minn., native notched the game-winning marker and an assist in Saturday’s 3-0 victory. The 19-year-old was also a plus-2 on the weekend.
“Matt has proven himself worthy of his captaincy,” said RoadRunners head coach Scott Langer. "He leads by example on and off the ice.”
Alexandria forward Jon Swavely rang up a goal and four assists as the Blizzard skated to a three-game sweep over Marquette. On Thursday, the Reading, Pa., native recorded two assists in a 4-2 triumph. The next night, the 19-year-old added another assist as the Blizzard again doubled up the Rangers, 4-2. Swavely connected for the overtime winner and an assist in Alexandria’s 4-3 victory on Saturday. He was also a plus-1 on the weekend.

Alaska forward Kyle Pichler collected three goals as the Avalanche celebrated a pair of wins over Kenai River. On Friday, the Anchorage native tallied two goals in a 7-4 triumph. The next night, the 19-year-old put home another goal as the Avs downed the Brown Bears, 9-3. He was also a plus-5 on the weekend.
"Kyle was effective for us at both ends of the ice last weekend," said Avalanche head coach Dave Boitz. "And we hope his offensive contributions are the sign of more good things to come."

Traverse City’s Brandon Stephenson picked up two wins over Mahoning Valley last weekend, stopping 62 of 68 shots. On Friday, the Saline, Mich., native made all 24 saves, including a penalty shot, in a 1-0 victory. After making 13 saves on 15 shots in relief the next night, the 20-year-old turned aside 31 shots on Sunday as the North Stars defeated the Phantoms in overtime, 5-4.

The next night, the 18-year-old scored a goal in regulation and the winner in the shootout as the Jr. Blues downed the Wildcats, 4-3.

"Kyle had a great weekend for us against a good Wichita Falls team," said Bandits head coach Jeff Brown. "He's just one of those guys who knows how to score, and we hope it continues."
Alexandria forward Jerry Freismuth rang up a goal and five assists as the Blizzard picked up a pair of victories. On Friday, the Grosse Point Woods, Mich., product tallied a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win over Owatonna. The next night, the 19-year-old connected for four assists, including one on Derek Kaiser’s game-winning goal, as Alexandria dropped Albert Lea, 8-2. Freismuth was also plus-4 on the weekend.
“Jerry has started the season very well for us, picking up right where he left off last season,” said Blizzard head coach Brad Willner. “He’s one of the top forwards in the league and is our leader both on and off the ice.”

Fairbanks defenseman Drew Darwitz recorded five assists as the Ice Dogs picked up three points in two games against Kenai River. On Friday, the Cottage Grove, Minn., native helped on three goals, including Steve Zierke’s game-winner, as the Ice Dogs blitzed the Brown Bears, 9-1. The next night, the 19-year-old chipped in two more assists in a 5-4 shootout loss. Darwitz was also a plus-3 for the weekend.
"We're expecting Drew to be a leader on the blue line this season and so far he's proven he's up to the challenge," said Ice Dogs head coach Josh Hauge.
North Iowa goaltender Thomas Callaghan led the Outlaws to a two-game sweep over Bismarck, turning aside 58 of 61 shots. On Friday, the Wilmington, Pa., native made 30 saves in a 3-1 Outlaws win. The next night, the 19-year-old who played last season with Texas stopped 28 shots as North Iowa downed the Bobcats, 5-2.
“Thomas provides us with a veteran presence in net and has been getting the attention of quite a number of scouts,” said Outlaws head coach Jeff Crouse.

Marquette forward Chad Pietila rang up two goals and two assists as the Rangers split a pair of games with Traverse City. On Friday, the Milford, Mich., native connected for two goals and an assist in a 4-3 victory. The next night, 19-year-old recorded an assist as the Rangers fell to the North Stars, 3-2.
"Chad is a kid that competes every shift," said Rangers head coach Kenny Miller. "He's a leader on this team and early in the season you need your leaders to help carry the load offensively and that's what Chad did for us."
Topeka forward Alec Hagaman struck for two goals in regulation and one in a shootout as the RoadRunners skated to a two-game sweep over Springfield. On Friday, the Peoria, Ill., native scored the shootout game-winner in a 4-3 RoadRunners win. The next night, the 18-year-old notched two goals, including the game-winner, as Topeka doubled up the Jr. Blues, 4-2. He was also a plus-2 on the weekend.
"Alec is a big-time player," said RoadRunners head coach Scott Langer. "He's got the game-winning goal in four of our six wins and he's scored in every game. He's strong and smart with a heavy shot."
Bismarck forward Cody Keefer, 20, tallied two goals and an assist as the Bobcats celebrated a weekend sweep over Alexandria. The Big Rapids, Mich., product scored his points in Bismarck's 4-2 win over the Blizzard on Friday.
"Cody continued his hot start through the weekend," said Bobcats head coach Byron Pool. "He had, in my opinion, a great Showcase Tournament and it has carried over into the regular season. As a 20-year-old, we were expecting big things from Cody and he hasn't disappointed."

Bismarck goaltender David Bosner backstopped the Bobcats to a two-game sweep over Alexandria, turning aside 67 of 69 shots. On Friday, the Chesterfield, Mo., made 36 saves in a 4-1 triumph. The next night, the 19-year-old stopped 31 shots at the Bobcats downed the Blizzard, 2-1.
"David has really stepped up and grabbed the No. 1 position in net for us," said Bobcats head coach Byron Pool. "He was a late addition to our team and has fit in beautifully. The way he's playing gives us a chance to win every night."

U.S. Under-18 Team forward Drew Shore rang up four goals and four assists as his team wrapped up the NAHL Showcase Tournament with a 2-1-1 record. The 17-year-old from Denver and University of Denver recruit was also a plus-4 for the tournament.
Wichita Falls forward Kyle Delaurell led all scorers at the NAHL Showcase Tournament with three goals and six assists as the Wildcats skated to a 4-0 record. The 19-year-old from Mission Viejo, Calif., scored one game-winning goal and assisted on three others at the tournament.

Alaska defenseman Shawn McNeely recorded a goal and four assists as the Avalanche finished the NAHL Showcase Tournament with a 3-1 record. The 20-year-old from Brooklyn Park, Minn., who last season played for the Fargo-Moorhead Jets was also a plus-5 for the event.
Mahoning Valley goaltender Jordan Tibbett backstopped the Phantoms to two of their three wins at the NAHL Showcase Tournament, turning aside 55 of 57 shots. The 18-year-old from Indianapolis made 20 saves in a 4-1 triumph over North Iowa on Thursday and stopped 36 shots in a 5-1 win over Bismarck on Saturday.
