Sunday Wrap-Up: Fighting Falcons sweep
Port Huron Fighting Falcons 5 @ Johnstown Tomahawks 1 – In a physical game that totaled 32 penalties and 119 penalty minutes, the Port Huron Fighting Falcons completed a weekend road sweep of the Johnstown Tomahawks on Sunday afternoon by a score of 5-1. The Fighting Falcons scored the final four goals of the game.
Port Huron got on the board first, as Alex Archibald scored a power-play goal early in the 1st period. The lone Tomahawk goal came from Collin Finkhouse, who tied the game at 1-1 with his first career NAHL goal early in the 2nd period.
Port Huron took a 2-1 lead when Jonathan Kopcaka’s shot hit off the post and past Alex Okicki midway through the 2nd period. The rest of the game was dominated by the Fighting Falcons special teams as they added two more power play goals and a shorthanded goal. Nick Le Sage made it 3-1 with a 2nd period power play goals. Bryan Yim and Zach Badalamenti scored in the 3rd period to make the final score at 5-1.
Max Milosek picked up his second win of the season, stopping 22 of 23 shots. Okicki took the loss, stopping 29 of 34 shots.
