Sunday Wrap-up: Falcons, Rage finish weekend with wins
Traverse City 3 @ Port Huron 5 - The Port Huron Fighting Falcons used their power play to defeat the Traverse City North Stars, 5-3 on Sunday. The Falcons were 3 of 5 on the power play, getting goals from Easton Powers, Brett D'Andrea and Maxwell Reavis as they stretched their win streak to five games. Ian Miller and Nolan Valleau also scored for the Falcons, while Mike Moroso had four assists. Peter Megariotis picked up the win for Port Huron, stopping 17 of the 20 shots he faced. Traverse City got on the board first with a goal from Seth Adams less than two minutes in. Miller scored a minute later to ties the game at 1-1. Powers scored later to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead at the first intermission. After a Traverse City goal, Port Huron would score the next three to put the game out of reach. Traverse City pulled to within two on a goal by Jared Van Wormer midway through the 3rd period, but they were unable to come up with any more. Kyle Laslo would suffer the loss, making 29 saves. Alaska 1 @ Dawson Creek 4 - Carter Page scored twice in the 2nd period, which included the game-winning goal as Dawson Creek snapped their losing streak with a 4-1 win at home over the 1st place Alaska Avalache. Rage goaltender Edward Dyson was strong, making 30 saves in the win. Tyson McCallum had a goal and an assist and Ryan Matthews also scored for the Rage. Jordan Watt had the lone goal for the Avalanche and goaltender Bodhi Engum made 29 saves in the loss. Boxscore
