Sunday Wrap-up: Alexandria caps undefeated weekend
Austin 1 @ Alexandria 2 – In a match-up of two teams who had won both their respective games on Friday and Saturday of this weekend, it was the Blizzard who came out on top thanks to a 2nd period tally from Charlie Aus, which proved to be the difference. Thomas Williams opened the scoring with his second goal and sixth point of the weekend with assists from Tucker Coborn and Seth Ronsberg. Austin would strike back with 12 minutes remaining in the 2nd period as Matt Hansen scored his first goal of the season with assists to Austin Nelson and Connor Quinn. However, just :49 seconds later Aus recorded the eventual game-winning with another assist to Coborn and also to Dylan Zink. The game also featured some great goaltending as Jacob Meyers won his third game of the weekend making 23 saves, which narrowly topped the 42 save effort from the Bruins Nicholas Lehr. Traverse City 4 @ Jamestown 3 -The Traverse City North Stars battled back from an early two-goal deficit on Sunday afternoon at Jamestown, getting a late goal from Kyle Loridon with 3:51 to play to cap a 4-3 comeback, salvaging their lone win in the finale of a three-game series in Western New York. Defenseman Nathan Harris scored a pair of goals for Traverse City, while Sean Murphy registered his 10th of the year. Zach Nagelvoort made 20 saves for the Stars, while Joe Ballers made 35 saves in the loss for the Ironmen who also got two goals from Jeff McFarland. Boxscore
