Wildcats' Salazar headed to Denver
March 14, 2008
The Wichita Falls Wildcats have announced that second-year forward Luke Salazar has committed to the University of Denver (WCHA) for next season.
Salazar, 19, ranks second in NAHL scoring with 85 points after 53 games and leads the league in goals scored with 39. His plus-33 rating is tied for third in the NAHL.
“Luke has really distinguished himself as one of the best forwards in the NAHL,” said Wildcats coach-GM John Bowkus. “He has worked very hard to make this happen and I wish him the best of luck.”
A Denver native, Salazar participated in last month’s NAHL Top Prospects Tournament.
“I’m excited to have an opportunity to play so close to home,” said Salazar "It’s been a dream come true for me and my family.”
