North wins Top Prospects opener

ANN ARBOR, MICH. - The North Division doubled up the South Division, 6-3, in the opening game of the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament today at the Ice Cube in Ann Arbor, Mich.
St. Louis Bandits forward Tom Brooks was named the Player of the Game after scoring two goals for the North. He was also a plus-3.
St. Louis forward Ben Warda (goal, assist) and Traverse City North Stars forward Harrison Niemann (two assists) also put together multiple-point games.
In goal, the Mahoning Valley Phantoms’ Garrett Bartus (seven saves) and St. Louis’ Cal Heeter (eight) combined to stop 15 shots.
Texas Tornado forward Ben Van Lare scored two goals in the loss for the South.
