NAHL graduate Stephane Da Costa scores first NHL goal

October 9, 2011

NAHL alum Stephane Da Costa, who played as a 17-year-old rookie in the NAHL for the Texas Tornado during the 2006-07 season, scored his first National Hockey League goal last night for the Ottawa Senators.  The Senators would end up dropping the close game in Toronto against the Maple Leafs by a score of 6-5.

Da Costa, 22, made his NHL debut back in April after playing two seasons at NCAA Division I Merrimack College, where he was named to the All-Hockey East Second Team this year.

In 50 games with the Tornado, Da Costa totaled 23 goals for 40 points.
