Maryland forward Polegoshko makes NCAA DI commitment
The Maryland Black Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Vladislav Polegoshko has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Lake Superior State University in the CCHA.
Polegoshko, 19, is currently in his first season playing in the NAHL and second season of junior hockey overall. The 6’0/176 lbs. native of Minsk, Belarus, has played in six regular season games so far during the 2021-22 campaign and recorded three goals. All three goals came as a hat-trick in a 5-3 win over Corpus Christi at the 2021 NAHL Showcase.
“I am proud and honored to announce my commitment to further my education and play D1 hockey at Lake Superior State University. I want to thank everyone in the Maryland Black Bears organization for giving me an opportunity to play for this team. I definitely feel a lot of support and trust from my coaches and teammates. They are a huge part of all my accomplishments and I am grateful for their help and support. It is great to be a part of a team and I am confident we will achieve a lot together,” said Polegoshko.
“It is always an exciting time when our players attain their goal of playing NCAA hockey. Vladislav is a very focused young man, who chose to come to Maryland and the NAHL because of the development we offer, on and off the ice. He has quickly taking advantage of the opportunities given, and we are proud and happy of his commitment to Lake Superior State University,” said Black Bears head coach Clint Mylymok.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Polegoshko played junior hockey in Austria last season and has also played for the Team Belarus 18U team in international competition.
