NAHL Weekend Preview

The second weekend of the 2020-21 NAHL regular season takes place this weekend with nine games on Friday and Saturday.
The Central and East Division’s again take center stage as the South Division gets set to go next weekend and the Midwest Division prepares to start in November.
Celebrating its 46th season in 2020-21, the NAHL is the oldest and largest junior hockey league of its kind in the United States and one of only two USA Hockey-certified leagues that operate under the non pay-to-play model.
During the 2019-20 season, the NAHL set yet another all-time single-season record of 361 NCAA commitments during one season, including a record number of 249 NCAA Division 1 commitments, further reinforcing that when it comes to players entering the league without a commitment, but earning one while they are playing in the league, there is no one better at it than the NAHL.
In the Central Division this weekend, another team makes their regular season debut as the Minnesota Wilderness take to the ice as they travel to Minot to take on the Minotauros, who are 1-0-1. An early battle for 1st place ensues between the Aberdeen Wings (2-0-0) and Bismarck Bobcats (1-1-0) in a home-and-home series.
In the East Division, the 1st place Maine Nordiques (2-0-0) are on the road in Johnstown to face the Tomahawks (1-0-1) in their home opening series on Friday and Saturday. Maryland (1-0-1) and New Jersey (1-0-1) face one another in New Jersey’s home opening series. The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks are on the road for one game in Northeast on Friday afternoon.
