Fargo-Moorhead adds Weston, Swenson

January 23, 2008

Kurt Weston started the season in Bismarck before being traded to Kenai River.

The Fargo-Moorhead Jets have acquired forward Kurt Weston from the Kenai River Brown Bears.

Weston, from Roseau, Minn., was traded from the Bismarck Bobcats to Kenai River last week for Jeffery and Kevin Harris.

The 19-year-old Weston, who didn’t appear in a game with the Brown Bears, totaled five goals for seven points in 29 games with the Bobcats.

The Jets have also added defenseman Mason Swenson, who comes to the junior ranks from Colorado State University.

The 19-year-old Swenson, who played last season at Eagan (Minn.) High School, has two assists in five games with Fargo-Moorhead.

“He has definitely made an impact since his arrival and adds skill to our defensive game,” said Jets assistant coach Aaron Kinslow.
