The Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Jacob Skolnik has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Skolnik, 21, just completed his second and final season playing in the NAHL for the Mudbugs. The 5’10/180 lbs. native of Fowlerville, Michigan, recorded 14 points (3 goals, 11 assists) in 47 regular season games played during the 2018-19 season.
During his two-year NAHL career, Skolnik recorded 20 points in 85 career games.
“We are proud that Jacob is moving on to the next level. First and foremost, Jacob is a great kid who knows what he wants hockey wise and education wise. Jacobs’s work ethic, physicality, and ability to skate well will only help UW-River Falls reach their ultimate goals moving forward. We can’t thank Jacob enough for his commitment to Mudbugs Hockey for the past two years and wish him the best,” said Mudbugs head coach Jason Campbell.
Skolnik is the 11th player from the 2018-19 Mudbugs team who has committed to an NCAA program.
