The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has announced that Michigan Warriors goaltender Robert Tadazak has been named the SBK Hockey Goaltender of the Month for February.
Tadazak, a 20-year-old from Lapeer, Mich., fashioned a 5-1-1 record, including a pair of shutouts, in seven February appearances to compliment a 1.27 goals-against average and a .963 save percentage.
“I definitely have to thank my teammates for helping me put up quite a good stretch,” said Tadazak, an Army recruit. “I kept the puck out of the net and they scored the goals.
“Getting those wins also helped us in the standings and have kept us in contention for a playoff spot in the North Division,” he added. “Hopefully, my teammates and I can keep playing hard and getting the wins we need to make the playoffs.”
Now in his second NAHL season - he played for the Alexandria Blizzard in last year - Tadazak holds a 19-7-5 record to compliment a 1.98 goals-against average (second-best among NAHL goaltenders) and a league-leading .940 save percentage in 35 appearances with the Warriors.
“My time in Flint has been great because now I live at home where my family and friends can watch me play, which is great because they haven't been able to the past few years,” said Tadazak.
“The team has great chemistry, too; I couldn't ask for a greater group of guys.”
