The Northeast Generals, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Jeff Skinner has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for UMass-Boston.
Skinner, 19, is in his third season of playing in the NAHL and fourth season playing junior hockey overall. The 5’11/180 lbs. native of Katy, Texas, is in the midst of his best career season as he has recorded 38 points (18 goals, 20 assists) in 50 regular season games played thus far during the 2017-18 season.
Skinner began the season with the Springfield Jr. Blues and was traded at the deadline to the Generals. In 11 games with the Generals, Skinner has recorded five points.
He has spent his three years in the NAHL with the Northeast Generals, Springfield Jr. Blues, Wichita Falls Wildcats, and Brookings Blizzard. In 149 career NAHL games, Skinner has recorded 79 points.
“We are very excited for Jeff on his commitment to UMass-Boston. Since we acquired him at the trade deadline he has been great on and off the ice. We look forward to him contributing to the Generals during the stretch run,” said Generals GM Bryan Erikson.
