Brady Gaudette had the overtime-winning goal in a 7-6 win on Sunday.
New Jersey 6 @ Northeast 7 (OT) – In the final game of the NAHL weekend, the Northeast Generals survived a furious comeback attempt from the Titans and managed to win the game in overtime to salvage a weekend split. It was an active 1st period, which featured five combined goals from the teams, all of which coming on special teams. The Generals got a shorthanded goal from Louis Boudon and power play goals from Colin Bilek and Alex Cohen. Meanwhile, the Titans stayed within a goal thanks to two power play goals from Nick Boyagian
In the 2nd period, it was more special teams goals as the Generals went back up by two as Mike Egan scored the team’s second shorthanded goal of the night to make it 4-2, only to see the Titans pull within one goal again thanks to another power play tally from Tate Singleton.
In the 3rd period, it look like the Generals were in control as they scored two power play goals to make the score 6-3 with less than eight minutes to play in regulation, both courtesy of Jeff Skinner, who was playing in just his second game for the Generals after being acquired in a trade earlier in the week from the Springfield Jr. Blues. However, the Titans were not done and managed to scored three goals in the final six minutes as Singleton added his second of the game and Wade Novak and Tyler Antonucci also scored.
With just over a minute remaining in overtime, Brady Gaudette netted the overtime-winner as he picked up a loose puck and beat Matt Ladd. David Fessenden made 37 saves in the win, while Ladd took the overtime loss, making 14 saves in relief of Brandon Perrone, who made 31 saves.
