Titans, Knights complete sweeps on Sunday

Joe Schuler had a multi-point game to help the Knights to a 4-2 win on Sunday and weekend sweep of Fairbanks.

Northeast 2 @ New Jersey 10 – Thanks to a four-point night from Danny Eruzione, which included a hat-trick the New Jersey Titans made quick work of the visiting Generals with a 10-2 win on Sunday, completing a weekend home sweep. It was all Titans from the get go, which included three goals in the 1st period from Eruzione, Ryan Wheeler and William Riedell. The lead swelled to 5-0 after two periods thanks to 2nd period goals from Eruzione and Todd Goehring. Just for good measure, the Titans then piled on five more goals in the 3rd period, which included one more from Eruzione for his hat-trick, another from Wheeler and others from Greg Malafronte, Tate McDonald and Jordan Kaplan. Both Generals goals game later in the 3rd period from Louis Boudon, who scored his second of the weekend, and Colin Bilek. Harrison Feeney made 28 saves in the win, while Gabe Vinal made 24 saves in the loss. David Fessenden made 13 saves in a relief appearance. Boxscore

Fairbanks 2 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 4 – The Knights completed a weekend home sweep of the Ice Dogs thanks to three, 3rd period goals and 16 saves from Grant Valentine. The Knights took a 1-0 lead with a 1st period goal from Curtis Carlson. The Ice Dogs tied the game at 1-1 thanks to a goal late in the 2nd period from Nick Rogers. Fairbanks took their first lead of the night thanks to a goal early in the 3rd period from Nick Rogers to make it 2-1. The Knights stormed back with three goals in the final six minutes of the contest as they got three unanswered goals from Joe Schuler, Paul Maust and Markuss Komuls. Josh Sarlo took the loss in goal for Fairbanks, making 15 saves. Boxscore
