Titans double up Rebels in Wednesday matinee game

Aston 2 @ New Jersey 4 – Four different players scored for the Titans as they doubled up the visiting Rebels 4-2 in a mid-day game on Wednesday in New Jersey. The win moved the 1st place Titans four points ahead of the 2nd place Rebels in the East Division with now eight games to go.
Just over five minutes into the game, the Titans struck first as Roberts Smits picked off a clearing pass in the neutral zone and raced in alone on Rebels goalie Darion Hanson, firing a shot low to the short side for a 1-0 lead. Less than a minute later, the Titans went up 2-0 as slick passing from Raymond Brice and Keegan Miller, led to a cross-ice pass for a one-timer from Joseph Schuler, who wired a shot that beat a sprawled out Hanson for a 2-0 New Jersey lead.
The Rebels got on the board early in the 2nd period as Michael Underwood tipped home a shot from the point from Kristofers Bindulis to make the score 2-1. Eight minutes later, the Titans went back up by two thanks to the power play. Darren Brady scored as he converted on a couple of rebound tries after Hanson had made a couple of saves on chances from Schuler and Michael Gelatt.
Early in the 3rd period, the Titans power play struck again as this time Anthony Cusanelli fired home a goal off a face-off win on a backhanded shot after Garrett Hallford won the draw. Before the game was done, the Rebels got their second goal from Evgeny Yakovlev.
Jack Berry made 32 saves in the win, while Hanson made 26 saves in the loss.
